General information only

The calculators and articles on this site are published in good faith and for general informational purposes. While every effort is made to keep the arithmetic exact and the explanations accurate, no representation or warranty of any kind is given as to the accuracy, adequacy, completeness or currency of anything published here.

Not medical advice

The Pregnancy Due Date Calculator applies Naegele's rule with an optional cycle-length correction. It is arithmetic on the dates you supply. It is not a clinical assessment, it has no knowledge of your health or your pregnancy, and it is not a substitute for antenatal care.

A due date established by your midwife, doctor or dating scan supersedes any figure produced here. Ultrasound measurement is more accurate than menstrual dating, and only your care provider can interpret it.

Never delay seeking or disregard professional medical advice because of something you read on this site. If you have an urgent concern, contact your care provider or your local emergency service.

Not veterinary advice

The Dog Age Calculator converts an age into a human-equivalent estimate using published size-adjusted charts. A human-age equivalent is a communication device, not a health assessment.

It cannot account for breed, weight, body condition, medical history or anything else that determines an individual animal's health. Decisions about screening, diet, exercise or treatment belong with a veterinarian who can examine your dog.

Not financial advice

The Retirement Countdown Calculator counts the time and the working days between two dates you choose. It does not know your pension age, your entitlement, your contributions or your tax position, and it makes no projection about money.

Statutory pension ages differ by country and have been legislated upward in many of them, so the threshold that applied when you started working may not be the one that applies when you finish. Confirm your own with the relevant national authority or a qualified adviser.

Where articles mention day-count conventions such as Actual/360 or 30/360, they describe how such conventions work. They are not advice about any specific instrument, loan or agreement.

Conventions, not universal truths

Some subjects covered here have no single correct answer, and this site says so rather than hiding it:

  • Day counts may be inclusive or exclusive of the endpoints, and both are legitimate.
  • Leap-day birthdays fall on 28 February under software convention and 1 March under some legal rules. This site clamps to 28 February.
  • Generation boundaries differ between sources. This site uses the Pew Research ranges and names them as such.
  • Zodiac dates and birthstones vary between traditions and between modern and historical lists.
  • Dog age equivalence has no agreed formula; several competing methods exist.

Where a convention is chosen, it is stated on the page that uses it. If your context requires a different one, the difference is usually a simple adjustment, but it is yours to make.
